Themen für studentische <strong>Arbeit</strong>en<br />
A second important aspect <strong>in</strong> simulation studies is sensitivity analysis: how much does<br />
the change <strong>in</strong> a s<strong>in</strong>gle parameter effect the outcome on a key performance <strong>in</strong>dicator.<br />
With<strong>in</strong> the Future Cities Laboratory MATSim has been implemented for S<strong>in</strong>gapore. Both<br />
modelers and policy-makers are keen to know how well the model performs compared<br />
to reality. Due to rapid pace of change <strong>in</strong> S<strong>in</strong>gapore, there are cont<strong>in</strong>uous changes <strong>in</strong><br />
the <strong>in</strong>frastructure. Most recently, the circle l<strong>in</strong>e MRT has been completed, and has a<br />
higher ri<strong>der</strong>ship than expected.<br />
The aim of this study is to summarize current state-of-the-art validation methods, both<br />
applied <strong>in</strong> MATSim and <strong>in</strong> other simulation models. Subsequently, it is necessary to<br />
develop a framework for future studies apply<strong>in</strong>g MATSim, determ<strong>in</strong>e key performance<br />
<strong>in</strong>dicators and map the changes necessary to MATSim to make it easily possible to<br />
conduct sensitivity analyses.<br />
The developed framework will then have to be applied to the MATSim S<strong>in</strong>gapore<br />
implementation by the means of a case-study: the open<strong>in</strong>g of the circle l<strong>in</strong>e MRT.<br />
The study can be partially or entirely be conducted at the Future Cities Laboratory <strong>in</strong><br />
S<strong>in</strong>gapore.<br />
