Preface
In dieser Zeit der verstärkten
Globalisierung
ist es zunehmend wichtig
für odu, unsere
Kunden lokal vor Ort zu
betreuen – dort wo sie tätig sind. Ob Deutschland, Europa,
Nordamerika oder Asien. Wie der Adler auf
dem Titelbild beobachten wir ständig das Geschehen
um uns herum, um immer wach neue Möglichkeiten
und Optionen zu entdecken. Nur so können wir unsere
Kunden so intensiv betreuen, wie sie es von ODU
gewohnt sind.
Obwohl es viel Zeit, Geduld und Geld kostet, Tochterfirmen
im Ausland zu gründen, hat odu in fast 30 Jahren
sein Netzwerk systematisch über den ganzen Globus
gespannt. Bereits mit der Gründung von odu usa
1985 begann ODU den Ausbau seiner Töchter im Ausland,
um nah am Kunden und nah am Markt zu bleiben.
Mit weiteren Vertriebstöchtern in Großbritannien,
Frankreich, China (Shanghai) und Skandinavien (Schweden)
schaffte ODU eine Basis der Kundenbetreuung in
vielen wichtigen Märkten und Regionen. Um unsere
lokalen Kunden noch schneller und flexibler regional
bedienen zu können, wurden Produktionstöchter in
Shanghai (2001) und Rumänien (2006) aufgebaut. Somit
können wir nicht nur auf den steigenden Kostendruck
reagieren, sondern auch eine regionale Basis
schaffen, um auf die lokalen Kundenwünsche besser
eingehen zu können. Mit der Erweiterung der Konfektionierungsmöglichkeiten
bei ODU USA ist ODU jetzt
in der Lage, Kunden auf drei Kontinenten (Europa,
Nordamerika und Asien) mit Schnelligkeit, Qualität
und Kompetenz vor Ort zu überzeugen.
Parallel dazu bauten und bauen wir unsere Kompetenzen
am Hauptstandort kontinuierlich aus, um
noch besser auf die Markt- und Kundenbedürfnisse
reagieren zu können. Mit der Implementierung unseres
weltweiten Supply Chain Managements und des
globalen Qualitätsmanagements sorgen wir dafür,
dass dieser internationale Produktionsverbund optimal
zusammenarbeitet und reibungslos unsere Kunden
mit Produkten für die höchsten Ansprüche beliefert.
So gehören heute neben zahlreichen weltweiten Vertriebspartnern
insgesamt acht Auslandstochtergesellschaften
zur ODU-Familie. 2011 feiern wir viele Jubiläen:
15 Jahre in Frankreich, 10 Jahre Produktion in
China und 5 Jahre Produktion in Rumänien. Schöne
Anlässe, die unsere Strategie bestätigen und uns ermutigen,
das weltweite Netz weiter auszubauen und
mit ODU-Mitarbeitern oder Partnern vor Ort die Kunden
von unseren Leistungen zu überzeugen.
In this age of increased globalisation it is increasingly
important for ODU to service our clients on the ground
locally – in the markets in which they operate. Be that
Germany, Europe, North America or Asia. Like the eagle
in the cover picture, we constantly monitor what is happening
around us in order to always be alert to discovering
new possibilities and options. It is only in this way
that we are able to give our clients the comprehensive
support that they have come to expect from ODU.
Although it costs a lot in time, money and effort to set
up subsidiaries abroad, ODU has over what is now almost
30 years systematically spread its network across
the entire globe. Way back in 1985 with the formation
of ODU USA, ODU began to develop subsidiaries abroad
in order to remain close to the customer and the market.
With further sales and distribution subsidiaries in the
UK, France, China (Shanghai) and Scandinavia (Sweden),
odu created a basis of client support in many key markets
and regions. In order to serve our local customers
with even greater speed and flexibility, production subsidiaries
were set up in Shanghai (2001) and Romania
(2006). This has enabled us not only to react to increasing
pressure on costs, but also to create a regional base
so that we can better address local customer wishes.
With the expansion of the assembly possibilities at ODU
usa, ODU is now able to win over customers on three
continents (Europe, North America and Asia) with speed,
quality and expertise right there in the local market.
In parallel with this we have been and are continually
building up our areas of expertise at the headquarters
site in order to be able to react better still to market and
customer needs. In implementing our worldwide supply
chain management system and global quality management
processes we are ensuring that this international
production network is working together in the best
way possible and is efficiently supplying our clients with
products to meet the highest of demands.
Today, in addition to numerous global distribution partners
a total of eight foreign subsidiary companies are
members of the ODU family. This year, 2011, we are celebrating
15 years in France, 10 years of production in
China and 5 years of production in Romania. Joyful anniversaries
that confirm the wisdom of our strategy and
embolden us to develop our global network further
and with odu employees or partners on the ground to
persuade our customers of the benefits of our products
and services.
