What is wr<strong>on</strong>g is <strong>the</strong> interpretati<strong>on</strong><strong>the</strong> author puts <strong>on</strong> <strong>the</strong> experiment. <str<strong>on</strong>g>The</str<strong>on</strong>g> c<strong>on</strong>venti<strong>on</strong>al, generally accepted interpretati<strong>on</strong><str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> such apparent violati<strong>on</strong>s <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> c<strong>on</strong>servati<strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> angular momentum (or <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g>linear momentum and <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> Newt<strong>on</strong>'s third law) isthat <strong>the</strong> electromagnetic field carriesa momentum density (l//XoC2)E x B. This momentum in <strong>the</strong> fields provides a coherent and logical explanati<strong>on</strong>for <strong>the</strong> experimental results.If <strong>the</strong> author wishes to challenge <strong>the</strong> c<strong>on</strong>venti<strong>on</strong>al view, lie will have to examinecritically <strong>the</strong> c<strong>on</strong>venti<strong>on</strong>al <strong>the</strong>oretical arguments for energy and momentum in <strong>the</strong>electromagnetic fields (as given in <strong>the</strong> above references), and establish exactly where<strong>the</strong>se arguments are wr<strong>on</strong>g. In <strong>the</strong> present paper, <strong>the</strong> author does not do this. <str<strong>on</strong>g>The</str<strong>on</strong>g>author refuses to accept <strong>the</strong> c<strong>on</strong>venti<strong>on</strong>al view; but his <strong>on</strong>ly reas<strong>on</strong> seems to be prejudice.In c<strong>on</strong>necti<strong>on</strong> with <strong>the</strong> energy flow in electromagnetic fields, he declaresthat "...meanwhile every child knows that this is not true." If <strong>the</strong> author wishes tomake a case against <strong>the</strong> c<strong>on</strong>venti<strong>on</strong>al view, he will have to <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g>fer better reas<strong>on</strong>s thanpolls c<strong>on</strong>ducted am<strong>on</strong>gst children.I recommend against publicati<strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> this paper.PLEASE DO NOT SIGN
