NOTES ON THE STRUCTURE OF THE CATALOGUE
This catalogue contains the stage works available from the Bärenreiter Publishing Group together
with a selection of materials available from international publishers represented by Alkor.
In the main part of the catalogue works are listed by composer in alphabetic order. The second
part gives a wide range of thematic indices offering a choice of various criteria of form and/or
content.
Materials of arias, scenes, ballet music etc. are usually available separately even though not listed
specifically for lack of space.
Basically the original titles of works are listed first. Only if a work is solely available in a German
translation is the German title listed first. If an entry is not clear about the language of the material,
the language is stated next to the edition number.
Unless otherwise indicated »choir« refer to a mixed choir (SATB).
Orchestral scoring is given in the usual order in scores, using numbers and
abbreviations:
Woodwind: flute (piccolo), oboe (cor anglais), clarinet (bass clarinet, saxophone),
bassoon (contrabassoon)
Brass: horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba
Drums, percussion
Harp, guitar
Piano, harpsichord, celeste, organ
Strings
Instrument details in brackets relate to doubling instruments.
Example: 2(Picc) = 2 flautists, with 1 player doubling on piccolo
Numbers in brackets indicate the number of players.
Example: Schlg(3) = 3 percussionists
All performing materials are available on hire. Some parts of the performing materials (usually full
scores and vocal score) often are also available for sale at your local music dealer or book shop.
These items with their respective order numbers are individually listed.
On request inspection copies can be provided prior to placing an order for hire material. Usually
there is no charge for inspection copies.
Hire material fees and performance contracts are negotiated individually. Please send your orders
with details on the number of parts required and the text version preferred together with performance
details, such as date, place, seating capacity, ticket price, performers, and organiser to:
