Zu Servicezwecken haben
Hersteller und Anlagenbauer
den Zugriff zu den Geräten
über Modem (ISDN).
Die Kommunikation kann
wahlweise mit dem Servicetool
oder über BACnet PTP
(point to point) erfolgen.
Das neue EE-Tec Restaurant
ist nach Angaben des weltweit
aufgestellten Gastronomie-Unternehmens
ein
wichtiger Bestandteil des eigenenNachhaltigkeits-Konzepts.

For the sustainable operation
of the world‘s first energy-efficient
McDonald’s restaurant
(EE-Tec), amongst
other things two highly efficient
Adsolair air conditioning
units with “adiabatic”
evaporative cooling are used,
made by Menerga GmbH.
In the franchise location recently
opened in Achim near
Bremen, innovative environmentally
friendly technologies
and alternative energy
sources such as geothermal
energy, solar energy and
wind power are being tested
for their potential to sustainably
supply the building.
Fresh air infeed as required
In order to make a contribution
to global climate protection
and simultaneously
reduce energy costs, the restaurant
company relies on
two air conditioning units
for room ventilation which
cool the building using “adiabatic”
evaporative cooling,
alongside geothermal energy.
Through the use of this natural
cooling process, the capacity
of the compressors required
for cooling has been
reduced by around 50%. The
highly efficient heat recovery
system of the apparatus also
ensures energy-saving air conditioning
of the kitchen and
lobby areas. Integrated CO 2
sensors are used for the infeed
of fresh air as required in the
lobby and in the kitchen. The
regulation and control of each
air conditioning unit is run by
an E-DDC3.1 BACnet building
controller manufactured
by SE-Elektronic GmbH.
Multivendor system
During the connection
and regulation of the system
equipment by means of
BACnet-compatible control
technology, all relevant data
points relating to the system
are transmitted, including analogue
measured values (e.g.
temperature, humidity, flap
position, flow rate in m³/h),
and digital values (operational
messages, fault messages,
maintenance messages). The
nominal values (flow rate,
nominal CO 2 value), are specified
by the control centre, timer
programmes and the system
release. Monitoring and
optimisation during running
operation are thus guaranteed
without any negative consequences
for the company.
For purposes of servicing,
the manufacturer and system
engineers are able to access
the apparatus via modem
(ISDN). The communication
can take place either using
the service tool or via BACnet
PTP (point to point). According
to information provided
by the global restaurant
company, the new EE-Tec

Restaurant is an important
component of their corporate
sustainability concept. If the
utilisation of the energy-saving
environmentally friendly
technology is successful, the
sustainable building concept
is to be rolled out in other
McDonald’s restaurants.
As a manufacturer of air
conditioning units, Menerga
