Die Latin­Rock­Ikone der 70er Jahre, Carlos Santana, gibt seinen Konzertauftakt
in Dubai. Am 15. Februar 2008 startet die „Live your Light Tour
2008“. Der 60­jährige Musiker aus Mexiko begeistert noch immer ein
Millionenpublikum. Seine Lieder werden seit über drei Jahrzehnten von
den Radiostationen rund um den Globus gespielt, allen voran „Black
Magic Woman“, „Oye como va“ oder „Maria Maria“.
Santana gilt als der Mitbegründer des Latino­Rock, was ihm eine Reihe
hochkarätiger Preise einbrachte. Doch der mehrfache Grammy­Gewinner
ist kein bisschen müde. Geplant sind für dieses Jahr zwei Touren,
eine durch Asien, die zweite führt den Künstler nach Europa. Von Dubai
aus geht es direkt nach Singapur, Australien, Neuseeland und Hongkong.
Während der Europatournee kommen auch die deutschen Fans in
den Genuss des goldenen Gitarrensounds. Mit seinen über 90 Millionen
verkauften Alben weltweit gehört Carlos Santana zu den erfolgreichsten
Musikern seiner Zeit.
Zum ersten Mal in seiner Laufbahn tritt der Künstler am Golf auf. Der
für Santana typische Gitarrenklang wird in Dubais Festival City erklingen.

Carlos Santana, the pop icon of the 1970s begins his concert tour in
Dubai. The “Live Your Light Tour 2008” starts February 15, 2008. The
60 year old musician from Mexico still wows millions of his fans. His
songs have been played by radio stations around the world for three
decades; the frontrunners being: “Black Magic Woman”, “Oye como va”
and “Maria, Maria”.
Santana is considered as one of the co-founders of Latino Rock, which
earned him some high carat prizes. Yet the multiple Grammy winner is
not a bit tired. Planned for this year are two tours, one will be through
Asia the other will take the artist to Europe. From Dubai, he will head
straight to Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong. During
his European tour, German fans will get to enjoy the golden sounds of
his guitar. With over 90 million albums sold, Carlos Santana is among
the most successful artists of his time.
The concert will be his first appearance in the Gulf Region. The unmistakably
sound of Santana’s guitar will he heard in Dubai’s Festival
