Sind Sie glücklich?<br />
Ich bin nicht immer glücklich, nein.<br />
Im Moment hänge ich ein bisschen<br />
durch, weil ich das Glück will und<br />
das kommt nicht so einfach reinspaziert.<br />
Dem Glück die Hand reichen,<br />
finde ich ein sehr schönes Bild. Wenn<br />
man unglücklich ist, kann man immer<br />
etwas daraus machen. Glück muss man<br />
genießen, wenn es da ist.<br />

What do you really love about <strong>Berlin</strong>?<br />
<strong>Berlin</strong> is my home, my home city. Of<br />
course, <strong>Berlin</strong> is loud and bright and<br />
colourful and chaotic as well, that is precisely<br />
the attraction for people who come<br />
here. If you’re born here it’s normal. My<br />
favourite part is Charlottenburg which is<br />
where I come from, that is where my roots<br />
are and many memories. <strong>Berlin</strong> is poor<br />
and <strong>Berlin</strong> is rich in culture.<br />
You hear so often that it’s not easy to<br />
be famous and popular. What does fame<br />
mean to you?<br />
Success and fame go hand in hand when<br />
you are in the public eye. I never wanted<br />
it yet it’s something I always did want.<br />
Of course being famous is great, but at the<br />
same time it’s not always easy. Fortunately,<br />
people treat me with a lot of respect and<br />
courtesy.<br />
Critics and fans alike see your current<br />
CD »Leise Zeichen« (»Quiet Signs«) as<br />
the best of your musical career. What signs<br />
are you singing about?<br />
I tell stories that seem to come from<br />
within my inner cosmos. How I see the<br />
world, people, encounters. And about what<br />
remains. These are signs. It’s about recognising<br />
connections and feelings like longing,<br />
love, and fear.<br />
