<strong>Fakultät</strong> <strong>VI</strong> <strong>Planen</strong> <strong>Bauen</strong> <strong>Umwelt</strong><br />
Mögliche Beiträge wären geplante sowie abgeschlossene Bachelor- bzw. Masterarbeiten,<br />
aber auch Projekte zum Thema Stadtforschung abseits der Universität. Zu den einzelnen<br />
Präsentationen sollen im Vorfeld Vorbereitungstexte bereitgestellt werden, um eine<br />
gemeinsame inhaltliche Grundlage zu schaffen und eine informierte Debatte während der<br />
Sitzungen zu ermöglichen.<br />
Eingeladen sind gesellschaftswissenschaftlich interessierte Studierende im Themenfeld<br />
der Stadtforschung. Das Seminar richtet sich vor allem (aber nicht ausschließlich!) an<br />
Bachelorstudierende der höheren Semester.<br />
Die Veranstaltung wird von den Beiträgen der Teilnehmenden leben. Dass bedeutet,<br />
die Mitarbeit im Kolloquium erfordert einerseits physische Präsenz, sowie andererseits<br />
das Einbringen eigener Ideen, Fragestellungen und Vorhaben im Bereich kritischer<br />
Stadtforschung.<br />
Für die Veranstaltung können keine ECTS vergeben werden.<br />
Die konstituierende Sitzung findet am Dienstag, den 16.10.2012 von 16-18 Uhr<br />
im Raum FH906 statt. Dort werden wir einen Seminarplan erarbeiten und die weitere<br />
terminliche Organisierung festlegen. Erscheint also zahlreich!<br />

The Sociology of Knowledge / Wissenssoziologie<br />
Knowledge has been a topic for sociology since its foundation by Comte, and the heated<br />
discussion on the contemporary “knowledge society” proves its continued relevance in<br />
sociology as well as in other social sciences. Knowledge forms the subject matter of a<br />
special field of sociology which came to be called the “Sociology of Knowledge”. The<br />
lecture will provide a general overview on the sociology of knowledge. It will start with<br />
its foundation in the philosophy of enlightenment and follow its course into classical<br />
sociology (Comte, Marx, Weber, Durkheim and Simmel). After its constitution as “classical<br />
sociology of knowledge”, the more specific versions of the more recent “new sociology<br />
of knowledge” by Schutz, Berger and Luckmann and its communicative turn will be<br />
sketched, including it adaptions in systems theory, discourse theory and cultural studies.<br />
The historical sketch on the approaches to the sociology of knowledge will provide the<br />
theoretical grounds for its specific perspective on knowledge. Therefore, the second part<br />
of the lecture will be devoted to various areas of social scientific research on knowledge.<br />
Undoubtedly, science plays an important role, and therefore the sociology of science will<br />
be considered as well as the theories of “knowledge society”. Also, theories of memory<br />
and remembering and “cognition” have to be discussed in this context.<br />
