Acquisition of Bauer und Trummer GmbH
Midwich, a specialist audio visual distributor to the
trade market with operations across Europe and Australasia
has acquired Bauer und Trummer GmbH, who
trade as New Media AV, distributor of broadcast and professional video
products based in Germany, predominantly serving the German, Austrian
and Swiss (DACH) market, in addition to a select number of other European
markets. Joint founders and Managing Directors Johannes Bauer and Tobias
Trummer will continue to lead the business as part of the Group.
Headquartered in Nuremberg, New Media AV is a specialist distributor of
broadcast and professional video products including cameras, recording
hardware, editing software and accessories. The Company distributes products
from key vendors including Blackmagic Design, Livestream and Vitec
and recorded unaudited revenue of 21 millions Euro in 2017.
The acquisition enables the entry of the Group into the DACH broadcast and
professional video market and New Media AV is believed to be the leading distributor
of this technology in the region. After the successful purchase of Holdan
Limited in the UK in 2016, the acquisition underlines the Midwich Group’s investment
in broadcast technology, which continues to converge with the traditional
AV market covered in Germany by Kern & Stelly Medientechnik GmbH.
The transaction is further delivery of the Group’s strategy to grow operations
through a combination of organic development and selective acquisitions.
Initially a UK only distributor, the Midwich group now has over 750 employees
across the UK, Germany, France, Ireland, Iberia, Benelux, and Australasia.
Kern & Stelly Medientechnik GmbH was founded in Hamburg in 2004 and is now
one of the largest trade-only distributors of audiovisual technology in Germany.
Kern & Stelly is the distribution partner of renowned international manufacturers
and offers its retail partners a wide range of products such as projectors,
displays, signal management solutions, interactive whiteboards and document
cameras.
Ciao Chérie
The combination of conversation and
picture (Camera: Michael Schindegger)
opens doors to places only thoughts
had resided. Spaces bigger than the
lines spoken, bigger than the confession
booth, than your own four walls of perception,
the confines of loneliness and
the edges of happiness. (Diagonale Catalogue,
March 2017)
Longing to overcome distance, customers
come in the telephone cabins of a
Viennese Call Shop. Like with an umbilical
cord, the telephone cable connects
them with their loved ones, family and a distant
home. The voice becomes an object of
projection, but is there a real understanding?
Ciao Chérie travels the world sonically while
visually an international cosmos rises up in a
single room.
Written and directed by Nina Kusturica.
In theatres: October 19, 2018
Niklas Cage at /slash Film
Festival 2018 Vienna
Niklas Cage will honour Austria‘s
largest event for fantastic film as
very special guest. On September
20 he will attend the Austrian premiere
of his latest film “Mandy” at
the Gartenbaukino in Vienna. The
action-horror masterpiece by director
Panos Cosmatos already celebrated
its world and European premiere at
the Sundance Film Festival and the
Cannes International Film Festival this
year and will be shown twice at the /slash Film Festival as part
of the eleven-day festival programme.
Outsiders Red Miller and Mandy Bloom lead a loving and peaceful
life. When their pine-scented haven is savagely destroyed by a cult
led by the sadistic Jeremiah Sand, Red is catapulted into a phantasmagoric
journey filled with bloody vengeance and laced with fire.
Panos Cosmatos: „I like to think of Mandy as a piece of naive art. A
muscle memory evocation of my past and the art, music and movies I
loved growing up.“
With seven different programmes – from Asian cult films over gory
splatter orgies up to family-friendly animation gems - /slash Film Festival
2018 is going to offer insights into the diversity of this genre.
