Englisch B2 – International Legal English (ILEC)
B2 – International legal English is an upper-intermediate to advanced-level course for learners
who need to use English in the legal profession.The focus is on commercial law with particular
emphasis on company law and contracts. The aims of the course are to:
• Practise writing common legal text types ( letters, memoranda)
• Improve ability to read and understand legal texts ( correspondence, commercial legislature)
• Increase comprenhension of spoken English with regard to legal topics
• Strengthen speaking skills (client interviews, discussions with colleagues, contract negotiations).
The course is preparation for ILEC, a Cambridge Examination Board examination and is a
suitable qualification for those seeking employment in an international commercial law
context, or those intending to study law where the course includes a significant English
language content.
