Fault detection procedure<br />
1 DISPLAY UNIT SIGMA 300 DOES NOT SWITCH ON<br />
Check the power supply to the SIGMA 300.<br />
If No: Check the power supply at K13 of the junction box PCB RZ 1703A2.<br />
If Yes: Check the cable between the junction box and display unit.<br />
2 DISPLAY UNIT SIGMA 300 SWITCHES ON BUT A COMMUNICATION<br />
ALARM IS GIVEN.<br />
Check whether D9 in the junction box is lighted.<br />
If No: Check the fuse F1 on the PCB RZ 1703A2 in the junction box.<br />
If Yes: Check the cable between the junction box and the display unit.<br />
3 DISPLAY UNIT SWITCHES ON BUT DOES NOT INDICATE THE<br />
CORRECT RUDDER ANGLE, BAW AND/OR COMPASS INFORMATION.<br />
Check whether D12 and D14 on the junction box PCB RZ 1703/A2 are lighted.<br />
If D12 is not lighted, check the fuse F2 on the PCB RZ 1703/A2<br />
If D14 is not lighted, check the fuse F1 on the PCB RZ 1703/A2.<br />
4 SIGMA <strong>550</strong> GIVES A RUDDER ALARM<br />
Check whether the rudder responds to the control commands.<br />
If No: Check whether the LED D8 on the PCB RZ 1711/A0 in the junction box is<br />
lighted.<br />
If No: Check the voltage supply between K1-1 and K1-2 on the PCB RZ<br />
1711/A0<br />
If Yes: Check whether the LED’s D5 or D6 are lighted.<br />
If Yes: Check whether there is output voltage to the valves on the terminal strip K1.<br />
Check whether emergency switch HAND/PILOT is in the position PILOT.<br />
5 PILOT DOES NOT STEER, BUT ALSO DOES NOT GIVE ANY RUDDER<br />
ALARM<br />
Check whether the function “RUDDER” has been selected on the display unit or not.<br />
Check whether the correct <strong>Sigma</strong> <strong>550</strong> has been selected.<br />
