AN OUTING TO KUNGSBACKA´S ENVIRONMENTS
Are you interested in fine, old seaside resorts and maritime history or would you prefer the peace and
quiet of cultural venues and nature at their best? Then you’ve come to the right place
because Kungsbacka has many delightful excursion destinations to offer visitors.
SÄRÖ - As early as 1839, Särö’s open-air hot and
cold swimming baths were erected. Särö very quickly
gained popularity as a seaside resort among wealthy
people, including members of the Swedish royal
family. During this era (as a seaside resort), many
beautiful houses were built, many of which still remain BILLDAL
today, tastefully restored with their typical verandas. BILLDAL
The former station building today houses a restaurant
called Blomstermåla 1904 with a splendid terrace at
nature preserve with unique remnants of the typical
natural forest that once flourished along the entire
coastline. The area offers excellent hiking trails and
lovely bathing from rocky beaches.
marina for leisure and fishing boats. Smarholmen is another
bathing-beach popular for families with children.
by sea trade and fishing since the early
Middle Ages. The Ship and Seafaring Museum in
Onsala depicts the seafaring era of the farmers. Onsala
Church, close by, is renowned for its beautiful painted
