ÄSKHULT OLD VILLAGE
- Country life in an 19th century village
Our journey in time takes us to the old village of Äskhult,
where we enter a genuine 19th century environment. The
houses are huddled together around the cobbled courtyard.
The grey timber walls tell their own story and give
the village its special character. The village´s arable land
and pasture are now being recreated in the manner of the
farmers in the old days. Enjoy the cosy atmosphere of
the coffee house, or buy home-baked bread and buns for
a picnic in the surrounding pasture. The villige is open
daily May-August. Guided tours make our history come
alive!

DORF ÄSKHULT
- Anschauliche Geschichte des Bauernstandes
Im Dorf Äskhult begeben wir uns unmittelbar in eine genuine
Atmosphäre des 19.Jh. Die Gebäude stehen dicht
um den gepflasterten Innenhof beieinander. Die grauen
Balkenwände berichten ihre eigene Geschichte und
verleihen dem Dorf seine besondere Ausstrahlung. Die
Äcker und Weiden sind genauso wiedererschaffen worden,
wie sie von den Bauern früher bewirtschaftet worden
sind. Im Dorf gibt es ein gemütliches Kaffehäuschen, wo
hausgebackene Kuchen serviert werden.
Das Dorf Äskhult ist Mai-August täglich geöffnet.

TJOLÖHOLM PALACE
- Turn-of-the-century manor house
Let us stop at the elegant aristocratic Tjolöholm Manor
House. The wealthy merchant J F Dickson had this
magnificent building erected in English Tudor style
1898-1904. The fittings were exclusive as well as equipped
with every modern convenience. Tjolöholm, with
its fantastic position on a headland in the Kungsbacka
Fiord, represents a complete manor house environment
including a workers´ village and a church. The restored
workers´ houses can be rented by holiday-makers.
The park and beautiful surroundings are an invitation to
lovely walks along Dickson´s old riding paths. The manor
house is open for guided tours. The coffeshop Storstugan
is situated in the workers village.

SCHLOSS TJOLÖHOLM
- Schloßatmosphäre der Jahrhundertwende
Der vermögene Kaufmann J F Dickson ließ 1898-1904
dieses pompöse Schloss im englischen Tudorstil erbauen.
Die Einrichtung war von gediegensten Luxus und das
Schloß war mit den damals modernsten Bequemlichkeiten
ausgerüstet worden. Tjolöholm, mit seiner wunderbaren
Lage auf einer Halbinsel im Kungsbackafjord,
vermittelt eine vollständige Schloßatmosphäre mit Arbeiterwohnstätten
und Kirche. Die restaurierten Arbeiterwohnstätten
können für einen Ferienaufenthalt gemietet
werden. Der Schloßpark und die schöne Umgebung laden
zu herrlichen Spaziergängen ein. Das Schloß ist Januar-
December geöffnet. Besichtigung mit Fremdenführer.
