(2) If the ore contains gold or silver, the latter is generally found<br />

in the residues after volatilisation.<br />

(3) This method makes it possible to treat low-grade ores, e.g.<br />

7 per cent, to 20 per cent., with profit.<br />

(4) With different devices for condensation, the loss of <strong>antimony</strong><br />

is practically nil.<br />

(5) The economising of fuel.<br />

(6) The trioxide, thus condensed, can be reduced to metallic <strong>antimony</strong>,<br />

or it can be used for other industrial purposes—for instance, to<br />

make paints.<br />

From these we might be led to believe that this method forms the<br />

proper line of development of the metallurgy of <strong>antimony</strong> in the<br />

future, judging from the most favourable results that have already<br />

been attained in France, in which country this method has reached<br />

its highest perfection.<br />
