Astra has won a tranche of<br />

awards, which reflect its vision<br />

In the annual FinanceAsia awards,<br />

Astra achieved first place in the<br />

‘Best Managed Company’, ‘Best<br />

Corporate Governance’ and ‘Best<br />

Investor Relations’ categories and<br />

third place in the ‘Best Corporate<br />

Social Responsibility’ and ‘Most<br />

Committed to a Strong Dividend’<br />

categories. In addition Astra<br />

President Director Prijono<br />

Sugiarto and Director Simon<br />

Collier Dixon were named<br />

‘Best CEO’ and ‘Best CFO’<br />

respectively.<br />

A further accolade came<br />

from Investor Magazine<br />

when Astra received the<br />

award for ‘Best Public Company<br />

in the Miscellaneous Industry<br />

Sector’ of companies listed on the<br />

Indonesia Stock Exchange. The<br />

awards are intended to stimulate<br />

an increase in the performance<br />

of publicly listed companies, and<br />

protection to investors, and to<br />

encourage activities in Indonesia’s<br />

capital market.<br />

Guardian Singapore Marks Achievements at<br />

Health & Beauty Awards<br />

Guardian Singapore celebrated its<br />

achievements with its partners in<br />

the health and beauty industry at its<br />

annual Health & Beauty Awards.<br />

Guardian presented 36 ‘Product<br />

Category’ winners and 62 ‘Preferred<br />

Choice’ awards for products ranging<br />

Guardian Singapore’s Health & Beauty Awards<br />

celebrate its achievements with its partners in<br />

the industry.<br />

from facial, cosmetics and body care<br />

to over-the-counter items. A new<br />

category was also introduced <strong>–</strong> ‘Best<br />

Promoter Award’ <strong>–</strong> to recognize those<br />

with good product knowledge who<br />

had ‘gone the extra mile’ to delight<br />

Guardian customers.<br />

Customers were involved too in<br />

voting for their favourite brands<br />

and the results in the ‘Best of the<br />

Best <strong>Brand</strong>’ category saw L’Oreal<br />

win the award for ‘Beauty’, Dettol<br />

for ‘Personal Care’ and <strong>Brand</strong>’s<br />

for ‘Health’.<br />

The aim of the awards is to<br />

encapsulate Guardian Singapore’s<br />

values, help it to build supplier<br />

relationships, nurture a learning<br />

culture and celebrate success.<br />

Maxim’s Quality and<br />

Excellence Reflected<br />

in Awards<br />

Three Maxim’s <strong>Group</strong> restaurant brands in<br />

Hong Kong <strong>–</strong> Maxim’s Chinese Restaurant,<br />

Maxim’s Palace at the City Hall and Peking<br />

Garden <strong>–</strong> have been voted into the top ten<br />

favourites of mainland China consumers<br />

in the ‘Quality Tourism Services (QTS)<br />

Merchant Awards’. Maxim’s <strong>Group</strong> was the<br />

only group to attain three awards under<br />

this category and also attained the greatest<br />

number of accolades in the overall awards,<br />

which were voted for online.<br />

Over ten brands of Maxim’s were<br />

accredited with the ‘10-year QTS<br />

Merchant Recognition’ tag. These<br />

included Hoi Yat Heen, Kiku and Café<br />

Landmark, which were presented with<br />

Silver Awards and Maxim’s Palace at<br />

the City Hall, Shanghai Jade and Hunan<br />

Garden, which were accredited with<br />

Merit Awards.<br />

Meanwhile, Maxim’s Cakes’ Ngou<br />

Cheung Store Management Development<br />

Programme won the ‘Excellence Award<br />

2011’ in the ‘Excellence in Training and<br />

Development’ awards organized by the<br />

Hong Kong Management Association.<br />

The one-year training programme<br />

successfully empowered supervisory<br />

staff to change for the best in their<br />

professional and personal lives.<br />
