2nd - 8th September 7 Day Tour<br />

The Islands of Mull, Iona and Skye, dotted along the West Coast of Scotland, are better<br />

known as the Inner Hebrides. The island way of life and indeed the pace of life is a<br />

million miles from the hustle and bustle of Glasgow and Edinburgh. We spend two<br />

nights on both the Isle of Mull and the Isle of Skye to allow us to really experience the<br />

islands, their people and their traditions. This tour is going to be very popular so be<br />

sure to book early!<br />

Mon 2nd: Letterkenny - Belfast - Stranraer - Glasgow<br />

After sailing to Stranraer, we stop at the mystifying ‘Electric Brae’ and Robbie Burns’<br />

Cottage, before arriving in Glasgow.<br />

Tues 3rd: Glasgow – Loch Lomond – Oban – Isle of Mull<br />

We visit Luss and Inverary this morning, en-route to the harbour town of Oban. Here<br />

we enjoy some free time before boarding our afternoon ferry to the Isle of Mull for our<br />

two night stay.<br />

Wed 4th: Day Tour of Mull and Iona<br />

Today we visit the tranquil island of Iona, best know as the place St. Colmcille chose<br />

to build his monastery. We also take in some of the sights of the Isle of Mull itself<br />

including a visit and tour of Duart’s Castle.<br />

Thurs 5th: Isle of Mull - Glenfinnan - Mallaig - Isle of Skye<br />

This morning we leave the Isle of Mull and make our way along the “Road to the Isles”,<br />

taking in Glenfinnan, before catching the ferry to the Isle of Skye for our next two<br />

nights.<br />

Fri 6th: Day Tour of Skye – Dunvegan Castle - Portree<br />

Today we enjoy a full day on the Isle of Skye including a visit to Dunvegan Castle and<br />

some free time in Portree, the capital town on the island.<br />

Sat 7th: Isle of Skye – Kyle of Lochalsh – Glencoe - Glasgow<br />

This morning we leave the Isle of Skye, via the road bridge to the Kyle of Lochalsh<br />

and the famous Eilean Donan Castle. This afternoon we pass through the spectactular<br />

rugged beauty of Glencoe as we make our way back to Glasgow for the final night of<br />

our tour.<br />

Sun 8th: Glasgow – Stranraer – Belfast - Letterkenny<br />

This morning we leave the Scottish Capital and make our way to Stranraer for our<br />

afternoon sailing to Belfast.<br />

12th – 17th September 6 Day Tour<br />

This 6 day tour combines two wonderful parts of England - ‘The Lake District’ and ‘The<br />

Yorkshire Dales’. We spend the first 2 nights in Kendal, visiting the many beautiful lakes<br />

that draw millions of tourists every year. We then cross over the Pennines, exploring<br />

Yorkshire’s beautiful Dales from our central base in the City of York.<br />

Thur 12th: Letterkenny - Belfast - Cairnryan – Kendal<br />

From Cairnryan we take a scenic journey along the Scottish borders and then south to<br />

the town of Kendal and the Riverside Hotel, our home for the next 2 nights.<br />

Fri 13th: Keswick - Northern Lakes<br />

This morning we take a leisurely drive past the home of William Wordsworth before<br />

visiting the market town of Keswick. In the afternoon we tour the Northern Lakes<br />

including Ullswater, returning via the spectacular Kirkstone Pass.<br />

Sat 14th: Lake Windermere - Boat Cruise - Pateley Bridge - York<br />

“A morning in the lakes and an afternoon in the Dales”. We start the day with a visit to<br />

the beautiful Bowness-on-Windermere, where we board our lake cruiser for a trip to<br />

the southern shore. Here we rejoin the coach for our journey through the rolling dales,<br />

stopping at the quaint village of Pateley Bridge, home of Britain’s oldest sweet shop.<br />

This evening we arrive at our hotel in the centre of the City of York.<br />

Sun 15th: Esholt (Emmerdale) - Harrogate<br />

Today we visit the village of Esholt, used for the exterior filming of “Emmerdale”. The<br />

village is no longer used for filming as the crew have now moved to a purpose built set,<br />

but the village is still popular with fans wanting to see the pub formally used as the<br />

Woolpack, and other buildings associated with the series. We spend the afternoon in<br />

the award winning floral town of Harrogate, while here why not enjoy a cuppa in the<br />

famous Betty’s Tea Room!<br />

Mon 16th: Free Day in York<br />

The beautiful medieval city of York has 2000 years of history in one compact city. With<br />

our hotel’s central location we can really enjoy this viking city, whether it’s a visit to<br />

the gothic cathedral, York Minster, admiring the city’s olde-style buildings, taking a<br />

relaxing boat cruise on the River Ouse or indulging in a spot of shopping. Perhaps join<br />

one of the city’s famous “Ghost Walks” tonight, if you dare!<br />

Tue 17th: York - Cairnryan - Belfast - Letterkenny<br />

We cross over the Pennines as we travel back to Gretna Green before making our way<br />

to Cairnryan to get the ferry back to Belfast. We arrive back in Letterkenny at approx.<br />

8.00pm with fond memories, new friends and stories to tell.<br />
