The Rhine Valley is one of Germany’s most popular attractions, and it is easy to understand
why, given the spectacular scenery. Throughout our tour we see the many vineyards, charming
villages, and fairy-tale castles clinging to the steeply wooded sides of this amazing gorge. Our
luxurious 4 star superior hotel is set in the heart of Boppard, the valley’s premier resort.
Thur 27th: Letterkenny – Larne – Cairnryan – Hull
From Cairnryan we take a scenic journey along the Scottish borders and then south through
Yorkshire before boarding a luxury P&O Cruise Ferry for our overnight sailing to Rotterdam.
Fri 28th: Rotterdam – Boppard, Germany
After breakfast we disembark the ferry in Europort Rotterdam, the world’s largest port. We
travel through the flat lands of Holland before crossing into Germany. We arrive in Koblenz
and follow the Rhine down to our luxurious hotel on the riverbank in Boppard.
Sat 29th: Free Day in Boppard
A day at leisure spent in the historic but lively Boppard. Located on the banks of the Rhine,
Boppard is the jewel of the Rhine Valley. It is surrounded by steep vineyards and sits on
a spectacular bend in the Rhine, upon which there is a constant flow of river traffic. The
town is small enough to get to know quickly, and the town’s excellent facilities include a
riverside promenade, many historic buildings, and a good range of shops, cafes, bars, and
restaurants. It is possible to take a sightseeing river cruise from Boppard, or a chair lift for
a view of the river from on high.
Sun 30th: Tour of the Rhine
Today we embark on a spectacular tour of the Rhine Valley. We begin with a visit to the
Cuckoo Clock Shop in St. Goar, a pretty village nestled at the foot of the Rheinfels Castle. We
get a great view the famous Loreley rock as we continue on to Bingen where we cross the
Rhine to the magical town of Rudesheim, with it’s charming, narrow streets and wine cellars
serving the local Riesling. We return to the hotel with time to relax before dinner.
Mon 1st: Moselle Valley and Cochem
After a easy start to the day we take a trip along the Moselle Valley to the historic city of
Cochem. Here we give you some free time to enjoy the atmosphere of this captivating area
of the Moselle, famous for it’s own local wine. We travel back to Boppard with ample time to
enjoy our final evening in this romantic gorge.
Tues 2nd: Boppard - Cologne – Rotterdam
We travel back through Northern Germany with a stop in Cologne, the capital of the
Rhineland, famous for its truly amazing cathedral. We then continue to Rotterdam for our
overnight luxury sailing to Hull.
Wed 3rd: Hull – Cairnryan – Larne - Letterkenny
From Hull we drive to Gretna, before boarding our ferry in Cairnryan. We arrive back in
Letterkenny at approx. 8:30pm after a spectacular week spent in the majestic valley.

This 13 night cruise brings us face to face with the awe inspiring Baltic region and visits
Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Russia, and Sweden. Each port has its own unique character,

Tues 9th: Letterkenny – Larne – Cairnryan – Newcastle - Board Cruise Ship
We travel to Newcastle to board our Fred Olsen Cruise Ship, The Black Watch.
Wed 10th: Day at Sea - Today we sail North towards the Baltic Sea, giving us a
chance to familiarise ourselves with the ship and the range of facilities on board.
Thur 11th: Aalborg, Denmark - First port of call is the Viking port of Aalborg.
Fri 12th: Warnemunde, Germany - Today we can enjoy the popular seaside
resort & sandy beaches of Warnemunde, or for a different taste of Germany we can take
an optional tour to visit a cold war bunker or make the long but rewarding journey to see
the many famous sights of Berlin.
Sat 13th: Day at Sea - We can take today as an opportunity to relax & revitalize.
Sun 14th : Saaremaa Island, Estonia - Today we visit Saaremaa, the largest
and most popular Estonian island, where we can step back in time and see thatched roofs,
stone walls, & many working windmills.
Mon 15th : Tallinn, Estonia - Tallinn is unquestionably one of Europe’s most
magical capitals, and the city, bursting with medieval charm, is small and compact
enough to give you the full Tallinn experience in a day.
Tues & Wed: St Petersburg, Russia (overnight stay) - An overnight stay
in St. Petersburg, ‘The Jewel in the Baltic Crown’ - an elegant city built on 40 islands,
and once the summer residence of the Russian Tsars. The city is enchanting during the
‘White Nights’ of midsummer where a brief twilight blends into dawn. There is an option
to attend the world famous Russian Ballet. NOTE: Passengers on Fred Olsen organised
cruise tours do not require a Russian visa. If you intend to take a tour independently, or
indeed step off your cruise ship alone, a visa MUST be obtained.
Thur 18th : Day at Sea - Today we relax onboard as we sail from Russia to Sweden.
Fri 19th : Karlskrona, Sweden - An opportunity to explore this historic Swedish
port, which takes it’s place on the world heritage list.
Sat 20th : Copenhagen, Denmark - The last port of call is the beautiful city of
Copenhagen, the Danish capital, and home of the famous ‘little mermaid’ statue.
Sun 21st: Day at Sea - Last day to truly relax in our ship’s luxurious surrounds.
Mon 22nd : Newcastle, UK – Cairnryan – Larne - Letterkenny
We arrive back in Newcastle and our coach takes us back to Ireland.
