NOTE<br />

Some installations use the 16-light microprocessor<br />

controller with switchgear applications. These are<br />

nonstandard controllers with remote start and no time<br />

delay for engine cooldown circuitry. Consult switchgear<br />

literature for configuration and function.<br />

Features<br />

The numbered paragraphs following refer to Figure 2-1.<br />

1. Anticipatory High Engine Temperature (if<br />

equipped). Lamp lights if engine coolant<br />

temperature approaches shutdown range.<br />

2. Anticipatory Low Oil Pressure (if equipped).<br />

Lamp lights if engine oil pressure approaches<br />

shutdown range.<br />

3. Low Water Temperature (if equipped). Lamp<br />

lights if water temperature approaches critical<br />

range.<br />

4. Low Fuel (if equipped). Lamp lights if fuel level in<br />

tank approaches empty.<br />

5. High Engine Temperature. Lamp lights if engine<br />

has shut down due to high engine coolant<br />

temperature. Shutdown occurs 5 seconds after<br />

engine reaches temperature shutdown range.<br />

6. Low Oil Pressure. Lamp lights if set shuts down<br />

due to insufficient oil pressure. Shutdown occurs 5<br />

seconds after engine reaches pressure shutdown<br />

range.<br />

7. Emergency Stop (if equipped). Lamp lights and<br />

engine stops if emergency stop is made (local or<br />

remote).<br />

8. Overspeed. Lamp lights if set shuts down due to<br />

overspeed condition (governed frequency<br />

exceeding 70 Hz).<br />

9. Auxiliary. Lamp flashes/lights under the following<br />

conditions:<br />

Flashing Lamp Conditions<br />

Auxiliary lamp will flash immediately if the<br />

controller senses no AC output while the unit is<br />

running (except during first 10 seconds after<br />

start-up). When AC output is sensed, the<br />

flashing will stop and the lamp will be off. No<br />

manual reset is required.<br />

The auxiliary lamp will flash if the battery power<br />

was reconnected or was low and then came<br />

back up again while the generator master<br />

switch was in the RUN or AUTO position. A<br />

temporarily low battery condition where the<br />

battery is weak or undersized for the application<br />

may cause this condition.<br />

Continuous On Lamp Conditions<br />

The auxiliary lamp lights if the optional<br />

<br />

emergency stop switch is reset while the<br />

generator master switch is in the AUTO or RUN<br />

position. To clear this condition, place master<br />

switch in the OFF/RESET position.<br />

The auxiliary lamp lights and engine shuts<br />

down 5 seconds after high oil temperature<br />

(P1-13), low coolant level (P1-14), or aux. delay<br />

shutdown (P1-15) faults (if so equipped) occur.<br />

These conditions are inhibited during first 30<br />

seconds after crank disconnect.<br />

The auxiliary lamp lights and engine shuts<br />

down immediately if overvoltage condition<br />

<br />

arises (if equipped with overvoltage shutdown<br />

kit).<br />

The auxiliary lamp lights and engine shuts<br />

down if activated by customer-supplied sensing<br />

devices connected to auxiliary immediateshutdown<br />

ports (P1-17 and P1-18).<br />

10. Battery Charger Fault (if battery charger<br />

equipped and connected). Lamp lights if battery<br />

charger malfunctions.<br />
