Leclerc Nilus II Canadian Birch Jack Looms
The back hinge treadle models of the popular low castle 8 shaft Nilus II have much better leverage making for significantly easier treadling
(conversion kits to back hinge treadles are available for older models). The added depth and back mounted treadles help overcome
the difficulty of getting a good shed with 6+ shaft weave construction. The new design anchors the treadles at the rear of the loom with a
unique rocker mechanism for even tension on all treadle cords with the treadles in either the rest or depressed position and for treadling
ease comparable to a 4 shaft loom. The loom keeps the space-saving folding feature designed into the original Nilus.
Front and back beams are removeable for easy threading and a friction brake for precise tension control. Depth
when open: 4-shaft 48” & 8-shaft 51”, for less strain on the warps and a better shed. 4-shaft can convert later to
8-shaft. Standard equipment: wire heddles, boat shuttle, reed and heddle hook, 2 lease sticks, 4 warp rods, and
instructions.
Options: insert eye heddles, bench, double back beam, sectional warp beam, flying shuttle beater. Treadles are
front mounted on 4-shaft models. *8-shaft prices are shown with front mounted treadles*. We highly recommend
the back mount option!

Leclerc Artisat Canadian Birch Jack Looms
Leclerc’s Artisat 4-shaft jack-type floor loom is designed for the
weaver with limited space who wants a foldable yet solid loom. It
can be folded front & back to a depth of 14”. A great classroom
loom. Additional shafts may be added.

Louet Dobby looms
Louet offers dobby looms from 16” portable to 52”. They are available in
mechanical and electronic configurations (Mac & PC compatible).

The Magic portable dobby loom comes in a 16” or 28” weaving
width with 24 shafts. It can be used on the included stand at home
or as a table loom at a workshop. The Magic comes with a treadle to
attach to the floor stand to lift the shafts. For operating the loom
in the table top configuration, there is a lever with a detachable
handle to lift the shafts. It can be folded for easier transportation to workshops.
The Megado, the flagship model, is crafted in Ash and double coated with semi-gloss
lacquer. Choose 16 or 32 shafts and weaving widths of 28”, 44”, or 52”. Shafts and the back
beam move in conjunction to create a countermarch shed with a light lift.
