Combined Cadet Force (CCF)<br />
Autumn Term<br />
The Term began with a “field day” in<br />
September. This took the form of an<br />
inter-house competition in which the<br />
S6 cadets ran the stands and teams<br />
led by S5 cadets undertook the<br />
various challenges. As ever the tugof-war<br />
proved to be a popular finale.<br />
The day also gave a chance for the<br />
Contingent to invite the hierarchy of<br />
21 Cadet Training Team to visit along<br />
with representatives from the<br />
Headquarters of 51 (Scottish) Brigade.<br />
Throughout the year a variety of<br />
opportunities to spend time away with<br />
the CCF arise. In August Lt Barr took<br />
an intrepid group of S3 cadets to<br />
Lagganside for a weekend of<br />
mountain walking and mountain<br />
biking. The chance to visit WolfTrax<br />
mountain bike centre was clearly<br />
enjoyed by all.<br />
Over a series of Sundays in late<br />
August and early September a select<br />
band of cadets trained for the annual<br />
Scottish Cadet Military Skills<br />
Competition. They practised section<br />
attacks, trained on First Aid and Map<br />
Reading and honed their weapon<br />
