The Housemate
I’m not gonna lie, we don’t get on,
here is no bond between us,
to redeem us
from being so much more than just housemates.
And at first it was going great;
we’d stay up late,

that we ate just for the sake of eating with our mates,
and we’d sit and rate and slate all the fake, two-faced girls
on take me out,
but now, those days are nout
but memories.
I feel like a paper swan in a lake,
coming last in the boat race
while they all finish in first and second place.
It’s hard, you know.
