Sponsorship represents a symbiotic
relationship. At one time it was enough
for us to simply seek support for the sole
purpose of furthering the CHBA-ER’s Goals
and Objectives. In the current economy, such
a limited perspective is non-sustainable; our
supporters reasonably expect that there
will be mutual benefit to their partnering
with us through sponsorship, and that
their sponsorship will be quantifiable in
terms of a return on investment. They are
looking for imagination and engagement;
signage and complimentary tickets are no
longer an end in itself, but rather should
be a part of a larger, more comprehensive
program – one that enables sponsors to
interact directly with their target markets. It
is the commitment and responsibility of the
CHBA-ER to ensure that this happens and
we look forward to our members, partners
and sponsors holding us accountable to this
benchmark as we move forward.
It is through sponsorship that most of our
events take place. Whether it is a keynote
speaker, a sporting event, the Awards
of Excellence or our newest initiative,
the Residential Construction Industry
Conference (RCIC), all activities and
functions are made possible through the
generous support of our members. It is
because of our sponsors that all members
have the opportunity to participate in and
receive the benefits of an initiative, program
or event.
With your input we can work together to
create, grow and manage sponsorship as
a mutually rewarding and advantageous
experience for both the sponsor and the
CHBA-ER.
Thank you for your past support and we
look forward to your continued involvement.
5.5 Volunteer Management
5.5.1 Volunteer Management Committee
2011 was another amazing year for the
Volunteer Management Committee!
The Canadian Home Builders Association
– Edmonton Region (CHBA-ER) now has
over 250 volunteers and a strong, active 23
committees.
The Volunteer Management Committee has
been very busy over the last twelve months:
• Planning the 2011 Volunteer Recognition
Evening;
• Recruiting Volunteers;
• Organizing volunteer orientations;
• Monitoring committees to ensure they are
functioning to the best of their ability;
• Monitoring volunteers to ensure that
they are content with their volunteer
experience; and
