Structure of the manual
The SINUMERIK documentation is organized in three
parts:
• General Documentation
• User Documentation
• Manufacturer/Service Documentation.
Target group
This documentation is intended for users of machine
tools. This publication provides detailed information
that the user requires for operating the SINUMERIK
810D and 840D controls.
Standard scope
This programming guide describes the standard
functions. Differences and additions implemented by
the machine-tool manufacturer are documented by
the machine manufacturer.
More detailed information about other publications
concerning SINUMERIK 810D and 840D and
publications that apply to all SINUMERIK controls
(e.g. Universal Interface, Measuring Cycles...) can
be obtained from your local Siemens branch office.
Other functions not described in this documentation
might be executable in the control. This does not,
however, represent an obligation to supply such
functions with a new control or when servicing.
