OBSERVATION ROOM<br />
EXLEY<br />
You wanted Larry to lose his<br />
cherry, but things got out of<br />
hand. Is that right?<br />
Everyone's attention is riveted, particularly Bud's.<br />
They watch, listen over the speaker.<br />
EXLEY<br />
(over speaker)<br />
Kick loose, Jones. I know you<br />
made her bleed, but that doesn't<br />
mean you killed her.<br />
No answer, but Jones is squirming.<br />
EXLEY<br />
(over speaker)<br />
If that girl's alive, you've<br />
still got a chance on this one.<br />
JONES<br />
(over speaker)<br />
I think she's alive.<br />
EXLEY<br />
(over speaker)<br />
You THINK?<br />
Jack turns to Dudley.<br />
JACK<br />
He's good. I'll give him that.<br />
They don't notice as the chair back begins to splinter<br />
in Bud's hands.<br />
#3 ROOM<br />
Exley sits across from him, tries to wrap it up.<br />
EXLEY<br />
Where is she now?<br />
(no answer)<br />
Did you leave her someplace?<br />
(no answer)<br />
Did you sell her out? Give her<br />
to some of your buddies? Tell<br />
me where the girl is!<br />
The door blasts open. Bud slams Jones up against the<br />
wall. As Exley stands, he bangs his knee on the table.<br />
Pulling a .38, Bud breaks the cylinder, drops 5 shells<br />
on the floor.
