If she was sitting here, then it's<br />
facing the wrong way. What are<br />
these smears in the blood?<br />
PINKER<br />
It looks like she was flailing,<br />
trying to get away.<br />
BUD<br />
But she's moving away from the<br />
door.<br />
(thinks; points)<br />
Who was sitting at this table?<br />
PINKER<br />
Dick Stensland.<br />
(a beat)<br />
Had to be dumb panic. If she knew<br />
him she would've been sitting with<br />
him... Right?<br />
Bud wonders, maybe a puzzle piece just fell into place.<br />
Pinker remembers something.<br />
PINKER<br />
You know, there is one thing.<br />
Pinker rummages a shelf for a glass jar which he hands<br />
Bud. Inside are two wax-saturated cotton balls.<br />
PINKER<br />
Cotton balls. I found them just<br />
inside the meat locker door.<br />
EAR PLUGS.<br />

Exactly. At least one of those<br />
animals had the brains to protect<br />
his ears.<br />
BUD<br />
It doesn't exactly play like dumb<br />
panic.<br />
