chert and unidentifiable lithic material artifacts. <strong>The</strong>y are also accompanied as<br />

frequently <strong>by</strong> chalcedony and non‐NB Colha chert as ceramics. Interesting, the<br />

indeterminate funerary assemblage at K’axob during the Middle Preclassic is<br />

predominated <strong>by</strong> unmodified faunal remains and NB Colha chert. All other artifact<br />

material classes interred with Indeterminates are represented in far less numbers.<br />

During the Middle Preclassic, adults are most frequently accompanied <strong>by</strong><br />

ceramics and shell, with other goods being represented three or more times less<br />

<strong>of</strong>ten. Subadults are interred equally as <strong>of</strong>ten with ceramic <strong>of</strong> shell. Subadults are<br />

also equally as likely to be interred with NB Colha chert as they are to be buried<br />

with no goods at all. <strong>The</strong> overwhelming majority <strong>of</strong> Indeterminates are<br />

unaccompanied <strong>by</strong> a funerary assemblage (61.54%). <strong>The</strong>y are accompanied <strong>by</strong><br />

ceramic and bone equally as <strong>of</strong>ten (15.38%) and <strong>by</strong> greenstone 7.69% <strong>of</strong> the time.<br />

No other grave good material types are found in indeterminate burials.<br />

Overall, the Adult assemblage is largely comprised <strong>of</strong> shell goods (74.24%).<br />

<strong>The</strong> next most populous material type is ceramics, but these goods occur in<br />

quantities over six times less numerous than shell. <strong>The</strong> assemblage <strong>of</strong> the subadult<br />
