Irish ballad, no other extant records of any of the songs seem to exist, nor is it possible to connect individual numbers to the various minstrel companies. “Belle Mahone,” is listed in the Christy Minstrel’s Song Book and archived at a handful of libraries throughout the U.S. If the remaining songs have not simply been lost, it may be that the other five are inventions of the company, or adaptations of other popular minstrel songs.
