What Can I Bring Into Singapore?
Food and Pet Food
Only small quantities of food from approved sources and small quantities of pet food are allowed. These items must be
strictly for personal consumption or use and not for sale. Travellers must be aware of the risks associated with consuming
or using such items, which have not undergone checks by AVA.
Animals, Fish, Seeds and Plants
An import permit from AVA is required for all
animals, animal products, fish, seeds, plants,
organic fertilisers and their potting medium
(e.g. soils). If these animals, fish and plants
are listed under CITES (www.cites.org), a
CITES export or re-export permit from the
exporting country and a CITES import permit
are also needed. Other conditions like AVA’s
veterinary and plant health requirements will
also need to be complied with.
For more details on approved sources,
quantities and permits, please refer to
www.ava.gov.sg, or call 6325 7625.
