After losing her
husband Troy
Broadbridge in
the 2004 tsunami,
Trisha joined forces
with the Reach Foundation to establish the
Reach Broadbridge Fund. With the help of the
Melbourne Football club, Trisha established
The Broadbridge Education Centre on Phi Phi
Island in Thailand.
How will you celebrate Australia Day?
There’s always an Australia Day barbecue
to attend!
Favourite Australia Day activity?
I love going to the St Kilda Botanical Gardens
in Melbourne.
What does Australia Day mean to you?
We’re lucky to be Australians. I’ve always been
proud of being Australian and even more so
after the tsunami, when Australians came
together to support our neighbours.

How will you celebrate Australia Day?
I’ll be home in Cairns. I love being with my
friends on Australia Day, we’ll have a barbecue
and then go out in the evening.
Favourite Australia Day memory?
Last year, I was privileged to be part of a
citizenship awards event in Cairns with people
who are making our community a better place.
What does Australia Day mean to you?
It’s a great day to talk openly about who we
are, our history, what we can do better and
how we can share more.
