ICT in the classroom was 58.5%; that of the teachers who answered they were competent
in using ICT for school administration was 69.4%.
(2) Indicators on the ICT saturation level in Japanese homes
As of the end of 2009, of the 94.08 million population 6 years and over, 78.0%
were Internet users (Table 2-2). As of the end of 2008, 73.4% of the users connecting
with the Internet at home utilized some sort of broadband connection (Table 2-3).
According to a sample survey by the Cabinet Office, the computer diffusion rate
at standard households was 74.6 % as of March 2010 (Figure1-17).
