You are cordially invited to participate in a Golf Day hosted by the Invasive Species Control Unit, ISCU (SANParks), in support of the unit’s sport development initiative. The ISCU Golf Day event will take place on Thursday, 18 March 2010 at Hankey Golf Club in the picturesque Gamtoos Valley, Eastern Cape. ISCU implements conservation-based projects and employs more than 2 100 people throughout the country as part of the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP). The beneficiaries are trained and skilled in various aspects of invasive alien plant clearing, rehabilitation of wetlands, and coastal related conservation. Team workers are selected from rural communities and have no access to sporting facilities and equipment. The aim of the ISCU sport development initiative is to expose these beneficiaries to sporting opportunities – socially and professionally – and thus promoting a healthy lifestyle with the opportunity to participate in formal and organised sporting events countrywide. ISCU is inviting sponsorships for any one or more of the 9 holes as well as sponsorships for the respective prizes.
