Application Request:<br />

• Cingular Wireless is applying for a Conditional Use Permit to allow a<br />

wireless communication facility in the form <strong>of</strong> a 65' mono-palm. This<br />

antenna structure would be placed inside a 14' X 40' walled lease area that<br />

would also contain the radio equipment. This equipment consists <strong>of</strong><br />

equipment cabinets mounted onto a concrete pad.<br />

• The conditional use permit shall be valid for a period <strong>of</strong> five (5) years, If,<br />

a~er five (5) years, wireless technology st<strong>and</strong>ards allow for a less obtrusive<br />

height, or the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Surprise</strong> has developed a better method to allow for<br />

the placement <strong>of</strong> wireless communication devices, the applicant shall be<br />

required to remove the mono-palm <strong>and</strong> make application to meet the new<br />

st<strong>and</strong>ards.<br />

Location <strong>and</strong> Project Description:<br />

The location is 17425 N. 115 th Avenue. This property currently contains<br />

the West Valley Art Museum.<br />

Cingular proposes to place their WCF on the east side <strong>of</strong> the existing<br />

building, enclosing all within a 10" walled area that would match the<br />

existing masonry building in both color <strong>and</strong> texture.<br />

Historical Data:<br />

• The parcel on which the proposed WFC sits has only been home to the<br />

current museum.<br />

Operational Aspect <strong>of</strong> Use.<br />

• The proposed use is for an un-manned facility that requires only electricity<br />

<strong>and</strong> telephone in which to conduct business.<br />

• Routine maintenance is conducted approximately every 4 to 6 weeks for a<br />

period <strong>of</strong> 1 to 2 hours, with emergency visits required as needed<br />

Infrastructure:<br />

• Electrical power <strong>and</strong> telephone are both available on site.<br />

• Paved roads <strong>and</strong> parking are in place to access the proposed WCF.
