The modern businessman or
entrepreneur will find it difficult -
or at least inconvenient - to get
through a day without his or her
smartphone. Latest models of
handheld devices can decently perform
crucial tasks that were traditionally
occupied by physical workstations or
laptops, and the advent of the slim-form
tablet further enabled businessmen to
work efficiently on the go. Indeed, doing
work while on the move has become part
and parcel of the contemporary business
environment, and a new offering by ASUS
is set to further enhance this trend.
Drawing on the success of the PadFone,
the ASUS PadFone 2 is a unique 2-in-1
combination of smartphone and tablet
consisting of a 4.7” Android-powered
smartphone (PadFone 2) with a fullfeatured
10.1” tablet (PadFone 2 Station).
Light and stylish, the sleek black finish of
the PadFone 2 exudes both class and
substance, promising an uncompromised
performance packed with robust
functionality. Weighing a mere 135 grams
living
seamlessly
The unique ASUS PadFone 2-in-1 concept receives an upgrade
and being only 9mm at its thickest point,
the PadFone 2 was designed with style
and comfort in mind, giving the phone a
unique and sensational touch.
Its technical specifications are nothing to
scoff at as well: the PadFone 2 runs on a
1.5GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of
RAM, promising astounding processing
speeds both by itself and when docked
with the tablet. The applications or apps
within the smartphone are optimised
for seamless transition between both
platforms and screen sizes, ensuring that
no loss of fidelity or clarity is experienced
by the user.
Battery performance is decent as well,
with 16 hours of 3G talk-time and 13
hours of Wi-Fi browsing on a single
charge. The PadFone 2 Station can also
be used to recharge the smartphone
twice as well, extending the duration for
its use.
Equipped with a phenomenal
13-megapixel high-performance camera,
the phone is able to capture up to 100
incredibly detailed images at a breakneck
six shots per second, while its low-light
performance is enhanced by a wide lens
aperture. Furthermore, the photographs
taken will appear sharp and crisp on
the PadFone 2’s high-definition screen,
delivering crystal clear images with
picture-accurate colours on a scratch
resistant glass surface.
The tablet component might be
unnecessary for some users, who might
find it inconvenient or a hassle to lug
around a 10-inch tablet in addition to a
phone, but for the mobile businessman,
being able to transfer critical documents
from phone to tablet seamlessly is nothing
short of a godsend. Even without the
tablet, the PadFone 2 is in itself a worthy
addition to any mobile arsenal, capable of
holding its own against the other players
in the fast-moving smartphone market.
Merging style and substance, the ASUS
PadFone 2 makes a statement in the
palm of your hand.
