materials, or equipment due to the work in this contract, and the Contractor shall repair or<br />
replace any damaged structures, features, materials, or equipment to the satisfaction of<br />
the City and/or the property owner.<br />
Payment: Full compensation for furnishing, installing, and maintaining all items<br />
contained within this section shall be included in the prices paid for other items of work<br />
and no additional compensation shall be allowed therefore.<br />
13. COMPACTION TESTING<br />
The City of Pinole will provide all necessary soils compaction testing for this contract, except for<br />
work that has to be redone as noted below.<br />
The Contractor's requests for compaction testing shall be made to the Director of Public Works a<br />
minimum of 2 working days prior to the time required for such work.<br />
Compaction tests on the subgrade, which meet the specified requirements, will be at the City's<br />
expense. All compaction tests, which do not meet the specified compaction requirements, will be<br />
at the Contractor's expense, with no compensation therefore.<br />
14. FURNISH AND APPLY WATER<br />
Furnishing and applying water shall be considered as included in the unit prices paid for the<br />
various bid items requiring water, and no additional compensation will be allowed therefore.<br />
Should the Contractor require water for construction operations, such as for compaction and dust<br />
control, he shall apply for a water meter from, and follow the requirements of, the East Bay<br />
Municipal Utility District.<br />
15. PRE AND POST CAMERA INSPECTION (CLEANING)<br />
General: Television inspections shall be conducted prior to and after the installation of the liner.<br />
The host pipe shall be thoroughly cleaned prior to the camera inspection. The pre-installation<br />
camera inspection shall be used to ensure that the host pipe is clean and determine if addition spot<br />
repairs are required, as determined by the Engineer.<br />
Acceptance of “Clean” Host Pipe: The Contractor shall clean the host pipe to remove all liquids<br />
(except water), loose solids, and other obstructions (including roots) to clearly expose and make<br />
free from obstruction what is remaining of the host pipe. The acceptance of the “clean” host pipe<br />
shall be subject to the approval of the Resident Engineer. The Contractor shall take any measures<br />
necessary (subject to the approval of the Resident Engineer) to “clean” the host pipe. The “clean”<br />
host pipe shall be documented by the “Pre-Camera Inspection”.<br />
Cleaning Methods: The Contractor shall use cleaning methods that will not provide further<br />
damage the existing host pipe. The Contractor shall be responsible for replacing and/or repairing<br />
all pipe damaged during the cleaning process using the methods described in the section titled<br />
“Spot Repairs”. A maximum of one hour may pass from the final cleaning and the insertion of<br />
the liner.<br />
Video of the each sewer line maybe available from the City; however the Contractor is<br />
responsible for any changes to the line since the footage was taken.<br />
