o<strong>the</strong>r STIs ranged from 1.4% to 6.8%, with trichom<strong>on</strong>iasis, chlamydiosis, syphilis and ureaplasmosis<br />
being nearly two times less frequent than in <strong>the</strong> general sample.<br />
After HIV diagnosis, <strong>the</strong> sexual behaviour <strong>of</strong> <strong>women</strong> in <strong>the</strong> Irkutsk sub-sample significantly<br />
changed as dem<strong>on</strong>strated by a number <strong>of</strong> indicators 9 . First <strong>of</strong> all, <strong>the</strong> proporti<strong>on</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>women</strong><br />
engaging in penetrative sex dropped sharply (to 73.5%, less than in <strong>the</strong> general sample).<br />

There was a decrease in <strong>the</strong> number <strong>of</strong> sexual partners after HIV diagnosis. 93.6% <strong>of</strong> <strong>women</strong> (more<br />
than in <strong>the</strong> general sample) had <strong>on</strong>ly <strong>on</strong>e partner.<br />
