Party perfection
Summer – the wedding season. You’ll need to
find a gorgeous dress (that’s not too gorgeous),
shoes, and make-up. This is my fail-safe go-to
party look – maximum impact with minimum
effort. Our beautiful model is Circe from Tiger
Lettings Agency in Manchester.
1Make-up for any event
or party needs to stay
on all day and all night,
especially where weddings are
concerned –unless you want to
spend all night in the bathroom!
Therefore, primer is essential.
Moisturise first, then use a
primer specifically for staying
power (Prep and Prime Skin
Base, £19.50 ,MAC, is perfect).
If your primer is good enough,
you shouldn’t have to opt for a
long-wear foundation, which
can end up looking ‘crusty’ as
the day goes on. I used Bobbi
Brown Moisture Rich (£28,
Bobbi Brown) on Circe.
How you do your eyes
of course completely
depends on your outfit
and individual style. For this
look, I’ve gone with a subtle
brown-bronze smoky - this
will look great with almost
any outfit and give an easy
transition from day to nighttime
3
with the addition of a little
more kohl liner.
Subtle contouring goes
a long way. This is a day
when lots of pictures are
going to be taken – and most
likely be posted everywhere.
Use a light bronzer, about 1-2
shades darker than your own
skin tone. If you suck in your
cheeks, you’ll see the line of your
cheekbone. Work along this line
in small circular motions. Don’t
go overboard on the colour, but
trust me – this simple trick works
wonders for lifting your face and
giving you super-model features
on those photographs.
4Again – lipstick is so
personal. Always choose
a colour you’re going to
be comfortable with, in a texture
that won’t dry out or irritate you
– remember, you’ll be wearing
this all day. Personally, unless
you are the bride or undergoing
copious amounts of champagne
toasts, I’d opt for a creamy,
moisturising lipstick with gloss
rather than a long-wear formula
that could leave you feeling dry
and is more difficult to
add colour or moisture to once
it’s dried.
