Location, location,
location
London always excites me. The hustle, the bustle, the
food, the people and the attractions. So what better
way than to base yourself in the thick of it?
The five-star Radisson Blu Edwardian,
Hampshire Hotel is a traditional,
grand London hotel, located on the
corner of Leicester Square – the heart of
Theatreland, and possibly too close to the
Häagen-Dazs café (you can never have too
many scoops).
Famous for hosting glitzy world film premieres
and dazzling theatre gala nights, Leicester
Square is one of London’s most glamorous
destinations. The Hampshire is also
conveniently placed for many of London’s
popular attractions, including Trafalgar
Square, Buckingham Palace, National Portrait
Gallery and the West End theatres.
Each of the 127 bedrooms is richly
decorated with original artwork, de
luxe fabrics, rich furnishings and marble
bathrooms. The hotel’s 23 suites are
dramatic creations, offering panoramic
views of the capital.
In-room features include flat-screen
televisions, air-conditioning, personal
phone number with voicemail, modem
connection, complimentary high-speed
wireless internet access, satellite and pay
movies, in-room safe, mini-bar, trouser
press and hairdryers.
The stunning Hampshire Bar & Restaurant
offers guests delectable dishes with a
fusion of modern British and Mediterranean
influences. The stylish and comfortable
layout shares the group’s signature nod to
the Middle East with original artworks and
artefacts from around the globe. The bar’s
extensive cocktail list features all the classics,
as well as unique Hampshire Bar creations.
Menu highlights include smoked salmon
on potato pancake and horseradish
cream, roast rack of lamb with minted
herb crust and thyme-roasted potatoes
and frozen whisky cream, served with
prunes and Earl Grey syrup. Great value
and attentive, friendly staff make this a
pleasurable dining experience. The hotel
also boasts a luxuriously spacious 100 square
foot alfresco terrace, something that can be
TRAVEL
described as a rare gem in the heart of the
city. It offers seating for up to 120 and its own
grazing menu - ideal for drinks in the summer
months.
The Hampshire has a variety of conference
and private dining facilities that are ideal
for meetings, training courses, weddings
and private dining. Up to 70 can be
accommodated for dinner, or 90 theatrestyle.
A unique feature is the spacious
Penthouse Suite, with breathtaking views
of London’s skyline, including the London
Eye, Big Ben and Nelson’s Column. This suite
is ideal for VIP meetings, formal lunches,
dinners and weddings, and has its own
registration area, cloakroom and facilities.
Business services include a full-service business
centre, rental of audiovisual equipment, mobile
phones and videoconferencing. A fitness
centre is located on the lower floor.
