Aims and objectives
In mid 2012, the EAU established a panel of internationally recognised experts to address the issue of the
ethics of live surgical demonstrations in urology.
The culmination of their work is a formal EAU policy statement which will be presented to the Congress on
their behalf. This will include the underpinning governance documents which have been formulated.
The methodology, including the supporting literature review and the Delphi process used to determine the
consensus view, will be shown, together with proposals for continuing prospective audit of all live surgical
events undertaken under the auspices, and with the endorsement of the EAU.
