Aims and objectives
In this course, special emphasis is placed on patient selection and on practical surgical steps: on how to
do meticulous pelvic lymph node dissection and nerve-sparing cystectomy in male and female patients, as
well as how to do various types of orthotopic bladder substitutes with good long-term functional results.
The course is aimed to be interactive with 50% of the time reserved for questions and discussions with the
audience. At the end of the course, participants should know all the essential and practical steps needed in
order to achieve good results with cystectomy and orthotopic bladder substitution.
