THE PRISONER.<br />

Echard was now a prisoner in that cell<br />

at whose door he had not m<strong>an</strong>y days<br />

previously stood as sentry. But yesterday<br />

he had r<strong>an</strong>ked as <strong>the</strong> son <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Marquis <strong>of</strong><br />

givings as to <strong>the</strong> soundness <strong>of</strong> her faith<br />
