creates crosswords that can be used on
screen and/or printed out.
The program has been designed
around a small database which is used
to hold clues and answers. Each clue
can be linked to subjects and inbuilt
levels (i.e., the subject could be
Transport and the level could be Easy,
Medium or Hard) and the program will
then create a crossword specific to your
subject, level and the number of words
you want in your crossword.
An answer sheet can be printed
below the crossword if requested plus
the number of copies can be specified.

A simple but effective business game,
this program helps to develop decisionmaking
whilst increasing knowledge of
the fishing industry.
A fishing port is the scene of the
project and pupil groups adopt the roles
of crew members aboard a Seine-
netter. Pupils are supplied with
background information and a log
book. They also have use of a 'radio' to
'hear' weather forecasts and fish prices.
Excellent graphics show weather,
soundings of the ocean, size of catch
and duration of trip. Pupils must

control of the weather which pupils
face.
Decisions made by the 'crew' are

simulation of a small computerised carhire
firm requires the pupil to receive
and make bookings according to each
customer's needs. Bookings are
communicated by telephone calls built
into the program.
The main skills involve reading for
information and decision-making. An
overlay is supplied for the function keys
which control the electronic 'booking
form' . The pupils can 'run' the firm for
up to four weeks with statements being
printed out at the end of each week.
