High school seniors qualify for the National Merit<br />
competition based on the PSAT score from their junior<br />
year in high school. Students who score in the top one<br />
half <strong>of</strong> one percent on the PSAT are notified directly<br />
<strong>of</strong> their Semifinalist standing by the National Merit<br />
Scholarship Corporation early in their senior year.<br />
National Merit College-Sponsored Award<br />

AMOUNT: $1,250 per year for four years<br />
TYPE: Merit<br />
ELIGIBILITY: National Merit Finalists who designate<br />
OU as their college <strong>of</strong> first choice with the National<br />
Merit Scholarship Corporation.<br />

national test date (qualifying score established each<br />
year by State Regents); or <strong>Oklahoma</strong> residents and<br />
non-residents who are named National Merit Finalists,<br />
National Merit Scholars, or Presidential Scholars.<br />
Eligible students also receive Regents Scholar tuition<br />
waiver and laptop computer allowance.<br />
