DATA CONTROL BLOCK -- TCAM<br />

The format of a telecommunication access<br />

method (TCAM) data control block is<br />

determined by the character of the data set<br />

it represents. The five types of DCBs used<br />

in TCAM message control programs and<br />

application programs are as follows:<br />

• Line Groups<br />

• Message Queues<br />

• Checkpoint Data Set<br />

• Message Logging<br />

• 'Application Programs<br />

The three segments of a TCAM DCB and<br />

their uses, described and shown in Figure<br />

11 are:<br />

Prefix Segment<br />

• Line Group Interface<br />

• Message Queue Interface<br />

• Checkpoint Data Set Interface<br />

Foundation Segment<br />

• Before OPEN<br />

• After OPEN<br />

Extension Segment<br />

• Line Group Extension<br />

• Message Queues/Checkpoint Extension<br />
