28 Nov. 2000: Delivered a lecture to local residents on celebrities associated with the
parish of Kilmeaden, Co. Waterford.
5 Dec. 2000: Delivered a lecture to members of the Waterford Teachers’ Centre on
sources for the teaching of early modern history in Waterford Treasures Museum.
12 Dec. 2000: Delivered a lecture in St John’s College, Waterford, on Geoffrey
Barron (d.1650), lawyer and activist in the Irish Catholic Confederation.
12 Feb. 2001: Delivered a lecture to the Dungarvan Museum Society on the Kerlogue
rescue (Dec. 1943: Irish cargo steamer saved lives of 150 German sailors whose ships
had been sunk by British torpedo boats)
27 Feb. 2001: Delivered a lecture on the Library of St Fin Barre’s Cathedral to the
Munster Branch of the Library Association of Ireland. It was held in UCC and was
well received by the 25 members present.
24 April 2001: Delivered a lecture on “The Cathedral Lkibraries of Waterford and
Cork” to the Waterford branch of Probus.
