5 Dec. 2000: Delivered a lecture to members of the Waterford Teachers’ Centre on<br />

sources for the teaching of early modern history in Waterford Treasures Museum.<br />

12 Dec. 2000: Delivered a lecture in St John’s <strong>College</strong>, Waterford, on Geoffrey<br />

Barron (d.1650), lawyer and activist in the Irish Catholic Confederation.<br />

12 Feb. <strong>2001</strong>: Delivered a lecture to the Dungarvan Museum Society on the Kerlogue<br />

rescue (Dec. 1943: Irish cargo steamer saved lives of 150 German sailors whose ships<br />

had been sunk by British torpedo boats)<br />

27 Feb. <strong>2001</strong>: Delivered a lecture on the <strong>Library</strong> of St Fin Barre’s Cathedral to the<br />

Munster Branch of the <strong>Library</strong> Association of Ireland. It was held in UCC and was<br />

well received by the 25 members present.<br />

24 April <strong>2001</strong>: Delivered a lecture on “The Cathedral Lkibraries of Waterford and<br />

<strong>Cork</strong>” to the Waterford branch of Probus.<br />
