Appendix A Installing Iode Iode runs under either Matlab or Octave. If you wish to use the graphical user interface of Iode, you will need Matlab Version 6.0 or later. If your computer already has Matlab or Octave installed, then you only need to install Iode. Obtaining and installing Iode On your machine, create a directory called my iode or similar. Then. . . • Unix systems: From www.math.uiuc.edu/iode/, download the file iode.zip and unpack it into the directory my iode with unzip or similar. • Windows systems: Fromwww.math.uiuc.edu/iode/, download the file iode dos.zip and unpack it into the directory my iode with WinZip or similar. Iode is free software, available under the GNU General Public License. Obtaining and installing Matlab Matlab is commercial software, available at www.mathworks.com for Unix, Windows and Mac.
