5 Disposal of wastewater

5.1 Thames Water is the ‘sewerage undertaker’
for almost the whole of London (a small part
of Havering is served by Anglian Water). It
is responsible for collecting wastewater from
homes and businesses, and treating it at one
of the sewage treatment works listed below,
before returning the treated water back to
