5 Disposal of waste<strong>water</strong> in <strong>London</strong> 5.1 Thames Water is the ‘sewerage undertaker’ for almost the whole of <strong>London</strong> (a small part of Havering is served by Anglian Water). It is responsible for collecting waste<strong>water</strong> from homes and businesses, and treating it at one of the sewage treatment works listed below, before returning the treated <strong>water</strong> back to Table 5.1 <strong>London</strong>’s sewage treatment works Sewage treatment works the River Thames or one of its tributaries.
