Due—5% Loan June 1, 1947; 4% Loan October 15, 1942.<br />

Period of Subscription—January 11, 1917 to February 16,<br />

1917.<br />

Right of Redemption—5% Loan redeemable on or after June<br />

1, 1929, and 4% Loan on or after October 15, 1929, at par<br />

and accrued interest on three calendar months' notice in the<br />

London Gazette.<br />

Interest Dates—5% Loan June 1 and December 1; 4% Loan<br />

April 15 and October 15.<br />

Issue Price—5% Loan 95 ; 4% Loan 100.<br />

Form and Denomination—Coupon bonds in denominations of<br />

£50, £100, £200, £500, .£1,000 and £5,000 and Inscribed<br />

Stock. Issued either as fully paid allotments or installment<br />

allotments. Fully paid allotments issued in three forms<br />

(1) "Certificate of Inscription" of stock transferable in the<br />

Stock Transfer Books, (2) "Register Certificate" of stock<br />

transferable by deed and (3) "Bond Certificate(s)" exchangeable<br />

in due course for bond(s) to bearer. Installment<br />

allotments issued in the form of "Allotment Letters"<br />

which might either be retained until fully paid or exchanged<br />

for scrip certificates to bearer. Stock is transferable in any<br />

sums which are multiples of a penny. Stock exchangeable<br />

for bonds to bearer at any time by means of transfer ; bonds<br />

to bearer exchangeable for stock without charge. Powers<br />

of Attorney for the transfer of inscribed stock and deeds<br />

for the transfer of registered stock are free of Stamp Duty.<br />

Method of Subscription—Subscriptions received at the Bank<br />

of England either direct or through the medium of any<br />

banker or stockbroker in the United Kingdom.<br />

Method of Payment—Installment allotments: 5% on application,<br />

15% March 2, 1917, 15% March 23, 1917 for the 5%<br />

loan and 20% for the 4% loan, 20% April 18, 1917, 20%<br />

May 9, 1917, and 20% May 30, 1917, without accrued interest.<br />

Installment allotments could be paid in full on or after<br />
