MindOut - Caring for Young People’s Minds
Venue: Captain’s Room, Hunt Museum, Limerick

Promoting Positive Mental Health in Young People a train the trainer programme for those working
with young people (15-18 years old) in the out of school setting. (Hosted by Limerick Health Promotion
Services). This is a taster session for the longer programme, which views emotional and mental health as
a resource for everyday living and its’ emphasis is on the various ways young people might cope with life’s
stresses and ups and downs. Booking necessary.

International Trends in Development of Learning Cities and
Regions: Some Implications for Limerick? An address from Peter Kearns of the
PASCAL International Observatory, Australia

Much is happening with learning city development internationally during 2013 with the UNESCO Global
Learning City Network to be launched in Beijing at the end of 2013, a PASCAL conference in Hong Kong
in November exploring key aspects, and a special issue of the International Review of Education on
learning cities being prepared for release around July. Peter will range across these developments noting
different patterns in East and West with challenging implications.
