Nurturing Well-being in Adult Teaching and Learning
Venue: Limerick City Adult Education Service (LCAES), O’Connell Avenue
Time: 9.30am – 3.30pm
This professional development event is designed to raise awareness of the importance of positive mental
health in adult learning. The event will give participants an opportunity to share practical approaches
for building learner resilience and for minding our own well-being. The event will feature a number of
exciting key-note speakers and breakout workshops. This event is aimed at staff and tutors working with
LCAES in the Adult Education sector across Limerick City. A limited number of places are available for
members of the public working in community-based adult learning.

Incredible Years Limerick Workshop
Venue: The Hunt Museum
Time: 10.00am – Midday
This is a 2 hour ‘Incredible Years’ Workshop for Parents of Primary School Children. It will focus on
boosting your child’s confidence by developing their learning habits, building on their reading ability and
dealing with a child’s discouragement. Maximum of 20 places, booking is required.

Genealogy Workshops
Venue: Tierney Building, University of Limerick
Time: 10.00am – Midday
Irish Ancestry Research Centre Genealogy Workshops will consist of an Introduction to Genealogy, the
basics of how to begin family history research, an outline of the recommended resources to use and
how to use online sources. We would also offer more advanced classes to those who have attended our
workshops in previous years. This event is of interest to adults (beginners or with some experience)
interested in information or researching their family history.

This workshop will explore the supports available for anyone who is unemployed and starting a business.
It examines the opportunities and challenges faced by anyone who wants to create work for themselves
and how to forge a clear path ahead on the road to self employment.

Coping with Life after Stroke

Presenting/Producing Shows; Basic Studio Techniques.
