Nurturing Well-being in Adult Teaching and <strong>Learning</strong><br />

Venue: <strong>Limerick</strong> City Adult Education Service (LCAES), O’Connell Avenue<br />

Time: 9.30am – 3.30pm<br />

This professional development event is designed to raise awareness of the importance of positive mental<br />

health in adult learning. The event will give participants an opportunity to share practical approaches<br />

for building learner resil<strong>ie</strong>nce and for minding our own well-being. The event will feature a number of<br />

exciting key-note speakers and breakout workshops. This event is aimed at staff and tutors working with<br />

LCAES in the Adult Education sector across <strong>Limerick</strong> City. A limited number of places are available for<br />

members of the public working in community-based adult learning.<br />

Incredible Years <strong>Limerick</strong> Workshop<br />

This is a 2 hour ‘Incredible Years’ Workshop for Parents of Primary School Children. It will focus on<br />

boosting your child’s confidence by developing their learning habits, building on their reading ability and<br />

dealing with a child’s discouragement. Maximum of 20 places, booking is required.<br />

Genealogy Workshops<br />

Irish Ancestry Research Centre Genealogy Workshops will consist of an Introduction to Genealogy, the<br />

basics of how to begin family history research, an outline of the recommended resources to use and<br />

how to use online sources. We would also offer more advanced classes to those who have attended our<br />

workshops in previous years. This event is of interest to adults (beginners or with some exper<strong>ie</strong>nce)<br />

interested in information or researching their family history.<br />
